DOMAINE DE FONT ALBA "a personality"

If our wines are between 20 to 30 years old and grenache plot the vines are even 50 years old, the brand name of our estate is very recent.

Created in April 1999, the "Domaine de Font Alba" takes its origins from a fountain dating back to the end of the 18 th century and which has become the symbol of this estate pouring its flow of fresh water intro a large pond.
 
     
This estate which stretches over 25 hectares and rises in tiers of between 300 and 400 metres is situated in the southern part of appellation in Apt (Vaucluse) on a hill called Les Puys. At the heart of the regional park of the Luberon, the estate follows the hillside and faces south, south east and the soils here are clay-limestone.
 
     

The vines cover a total surface area of 12 hectares planted with red grape variety :
- Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre for red wines
- Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre for rosé wines (with 4 hectares of new vines planted)
- White Grenache, Cinsault, Roussanne, Viognier for white wines.

We care for our vines solicitously : each row of vines is weeded, the soil between the rows is raked over and organic soil conditioners are used regularly.

The estate lies in a advantageous position and traditional wine-marking methods are associated with modern equipment and machinery :
- Biological follow-up of the condition of the soil and the vines
- Great care in taken during the grape harvests
- Oenological follow-up from harvest time right up to when the wine is bottled
- Vinification on the estate
- The wine is matured in oak barrels in cellars that have been dug out from the rock of our hillside.
- The wine is estate bottled

This very solicitous way of working enables us to present wines which have a "Font Alba personality" and, if they please you, will be our greatest satisfaction.

We sell our wines with the Appellation of Controlled Origin "Côtes du Ventoux"
